This Privacy Policy explains how Infonotics Softech Pvt Ltd (“Infonotics”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information in connection with the SFDX-Express Visual Studio Code extension (the “Extension”). We designed SFDX-Express to be local-first: the work you do stays on your machine.
1. Overview
We believe in collecting as little as possible and being clear about what we do collect. This Policy applies to information we process when you install, authenticate with, and use the Extension. It does not apply to third-party services you connect to (such as Salesforce, GitHub, or our payment processor), which are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
- Account data: When you sign in (for example, via GitHub), we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address, used to identify your account and manage your Subscription.
- Usage data: We collect limited product-usage metrics associated with your account — for example, the number of components you launch and which features you use — so we can report the time you save and improve the Extension.
- Billing data: When you subscribe, our payment processor collects and processes payment details. We do not receive or store your full card or bank credentials.
3. What Stays on Your Device
The Extension accesses your Salesforce orgs through your existing Salesforce CLI (SFDX) authorizations on your device. We do not store your Salesforce passwords or org credentials.
4. How We Use Information
- To operate the service: authenticate you, deliver features, and manage your Subscription and license.
- To report value: show you insights such as how much time the Extension has saved you.
- To improve and support: understand feature performance, diagnose issues, and respond to your requests.
- To comply with law: meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Extension, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion as described below; certain records may be retained where necessary for legal or billing purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the information we process against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & correction: You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and billing retention requirements.
- How to exercise: Contact us at enquiries@infonotics.com from your registered email so we can verify your request.
9. International Transfers
We are based in India and may process your information there or in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where data is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is intended for professional and business use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Extension after changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
